Spring TV Preview: The Scoop on 26 Returning Shows

SUPERNATURALAPRIL 24 · 9 PM · THE CWEPISODES LEFT: 4
WHERE WE LEFT OFF: After being arrested by Special Agent Henricksen (Charles Malik Whitfield), Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) helped defend the jail from a mass demon attack. The Winchester brothers managed to escape shortly before demon Lilith (Rachel Pattee) killed Henricksen.
UP NEXT: The Supernatural boys are venturing into reality...television. ''We're coming back with a reality show version of Supernatural,'' says creator Eric Kripke. ''It's sort of our loving tribute to Ghost Hunters. People will either congratulate us or think we're totally effing insane.'' The second episode will return to normal — at least as normal as Supernatural gets — with Sam and Dean visiting a town haunted by phone calls from dead loved ones. Due to the strike, though, Kripke had to jettison some plots in order to focus on Dean's ongoing entanglement with Satan. ''We put almost every other story line on hold until next season,'' Kripke explains. ''We're gonna charge full-steam into Dean's deal with the devil, because his soul is coming up due.'' Adds Padalecki: ''Sam is trying new and different methods to try and save Dean. In the third episode I think we have a week left of Dean's life, and we're sprinting to the finish line to beat this deal that's closing in.'' Seeing as Supernatural was recently picked up for season 4, we're guessing that race is won. —Tim Stack

Ready for Friday the 13th

'Supernatural' Star Ready for 'Friday the 13th'
Friday, March 21, 2008
Nobody was more excited than me when it was announced months ago that the madman from the Friday the 13th films, Jason Voorhees, would be facing the Winchester brothers on Supernatural. The hockey mask loving killer was supposed to show up in the recent episode "Dream a Little Dream of Me," but due to some pesky rights issues it never happened. However, it looks like I'll be getting the next best thing, because Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has just been cast as the lead in the new Friday the 13th remake. He'll be playing a guy who investigates some grisly murders up at Crystal Lake, which is something Sam Winchester would surely be comfortable with.

The Friday the 13th remake is being produced by Platinum Dunes studios, which also brought us recent remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher, and many others. Fans of the original Friday, or the original Scream, will surely remember that Jason's mother was the killer in the first film. Jason didn't show up until the sequel, and he didn't obtain his hockey mask until the third. However, in this "remake" he'll already have his mask and be busy offing teens, so it's not exactly a copy of the source material.

The new Friday the 13th film is being directed by Marcus Nispel, who put together a lot of music videos before directing the Texas Chainsaw remake. If you liked the gritty, stylized look of that film, chances are you'll enjoy this one as well.I think the casting of Padalecki is an interesting move, and I'm certainly excited to see him on the big screen again. These slasher movies typically have a female heroine, so it'll be a change of pace to see a male battling Jason. However, I'm sure at some point during the climax of the film I'm going to wonder why he doesn't pull out the Colt and shoot Jason right in his hockey mask.Because the studios love a little bit of marketing synergy, the Friday the 13th remake will be in theaters on Friday, February 13, 2009.

Supernatural creator talks about going up against Lost

'Supernatural' Creator Talks about Going Up Against 'Lost'
Wednesday, January 30, 2008
It's time for fans to gear up for the return of the demon slaying Winchester brothers, as Supernatural airs the first of four all new episodes beginning tomorrow night at 9pm. In a recent interview with Kristin at E!Online, creator Eric Kripke revealed his feelings on the Bela and Ruby controversy, what it feels like to go up against Lost, and what chance the show has of returning for another season or two. This week's episode, entitled "Malleus Maleficarum," will deal with classic Supernatural tropes like witches and hexes, while also offering up some back story on the mysterious Ruby (Katie Cassidy).

see all » The first thing that fans want to know is whether or not Supernatural will be returning for a fourth season. "We always feel like we're a bubble show," Kripke explains. "We always feel that the sword of Damocles is kind of dangling over our heads. And that's why we're so fervent about getting the word out with fans. The fate of the show lies in their hands more than anybody else's. You know, they have to continue to spread the word, they have to continue to let their friends know, because the main thing that determines whether we're back is just viewers. Pure and simple."Fans may have to do quite a bit of work now that Supernatural is going up against ABC's sci-fi juggernaut Lost. While Kripke isn't thrilled about the idea, he says that he understands the reality of being in one of the most competitive time slots on television."Well, we kind of have a Murphy's Law time slot," he explains. "Just as we are breathing a sigh of relief, like, Oh, finally, we get to air, out of the way of new episodes of Grey's [Anatomy] and CSI and, like, thank God, we turn on the TV, and they say, "Lost premieres Jan. 31," and we're like, "Great!" It's the most lucrative time slot of the week, I get it. But I think it's up to the fans, and they have to get the word out. And I'm kicking and stamping and screaming as loud as I can to get as much promo time as possible."Kripke also had something to say about Bela (Lauren Cohan) and Ruby, the two female characters that have caused a bit of controversy amongst Supernatural fans. Some people like them, and others curse the day they arrived on the series."I'm not surprised the fans are responding this way," he admitted, "because they tend to be very passionate about the show, and God love them for it. And they tend to have very strong opinions, specifically on the females we bring on to the show. And last year, we had this whole issue with the character Jo, so I knew this year we'd be up against that. But I'd say the difference between last year and this year is that I like these characters. Alona Tal (Jo) is a terrific actress, and I thought she did valiantly and beautifully with the part we gave her. But even before the original episode aired, frankly, I was watching them and was like, 'I don't know if we conceived this character the right way.' So, I wasn't surprised by the reaction, and that's why we pulled back on the character of Jo."While it may be tough for Supernatural to go up against Lost, I'm confident the ratings will hold up if fans get the word out that new episodes are airing. After all, the Winchester boys have survived much deadlier threats than a few island castaways.

Renewals... A 4th Season... :)

Supernatural among early CW renewalsBy Tim Surette - TV.com
March 3, 2008 at 02:19:00 PM more stories by this author
Smallville, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill also returning; no word on Reaper, Aliens in America.
Eric Kripke (and all you Supernatural fans), you can breathe easily. When the creator of Supernatural spoke to TV.com in late January, he said, "I'm officially nervous" when the topic of his show getting renewed for a fourth season came up.

Young Lex Luthor let his anger over being bald control his life.
The CW today announced its batch of early pickups for this fall's season, and Supernatural--about a pair of brothers who hunt demons across the country--was one of six shows that have been cleared to return by the network. Though Supernatural's return wasn't necessarily a lock, between Kripke's nervousness, its new competition in Lost (which moved time slots and now butts heads with Supernatural), and CW's disappointing cancellations last year (ahem Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls), the show's devout fans were understandably on edge.
Also returning next year will be Supernatural's lead in, the Superman-as-a-youngster drama Smallville. The show will return for its eighth season, which many think will be its last.
Coming back for its sophomore season will be Gossip Girl, which was the first of the new shows to receive a full-season order. The hit among the young set follows the lives of students attending one of New York City's top private high schools.

K-Fed about to serve some shorty.
The sudsy One Tree Hill will be back for season six to continue the back-and-forth between a group of young friends in a North Carolina town. All that's left to decide is whether recurring guest star Kevin Federline will return.
The final scripted show with an early renewal is Chris Rock's Everyone Hates Chris. The half-hour comedy is loosely based on Rock's life growing up in Brooklyn, New York.
Finally, the network's top program, America's Next Top Model, has been guaranteed not only an 11th edition, but the CW also went right ahead and announced a 12th edition as well. The show is currently in its 10th iteration, and added new judge Paulina Porizkova, who recently spoke with TV.com about her new job.
Noticeably missing from the list sent out today are freshman shows Reaper and Aliens in America, whose futures remain uncertain. Neither show was asked to return to production after the strike was resolved, but both had new episodes yet to air.

As of: 3/17/2008

I've added a Shout out box. Please use this nicely. Or it will be taken down.

Also I'm currently uploading my episodes. It's a slow prossess. So I'm hoping to have them all up soon... But again bare with me. I also have other boards I run, and life on the side... :(

I'm also working on the RPG. I know a lot of people love doing RPG's. I'm still learning how to set them up. Since I don't normally play them. If someone would like to take the job in leading the RPG. That would be awesome...

Thanks
